The Emotional Journey of Creating Anything Great
We always think it’s the idea that makes the product but actually I find that no matter how good the idea is without passion and reason everything is just an empty shell.
So in this month's blog I want to show you both the glitz and the emotional roller coaster of creating something great – and hell yea its been a hell of a ride!
From outdoor markets where I am literally freezing my ass off to crazy sexy photoshoots, it's all these dynamics that makes my job so interesting.
There’s no limit to what you want to do and where you want to go which sometimes can be difficult. And you do get it wrong – alot. But it all has to begin somewhere. And getting things wrong is not a bad thing. It’s all part of the process.
I started selling vintage clothes and AEQUILL was launched with this impression but it wasn't where I saw the future. It took several gos to diversify and take it away from just a vintage brand and like anything it was a case of trial and error.
Fun was always on the menu and I wanted everything I do to be about the love of doing it. The photoshoots were always the most glamorous and exciting because I get to see my idea come to life. I’ve had the privilege of working with some very talented upcoming artists who were able to lend me their creative expertise.
The below was created by the talented Dalia Dias a very talented young photographer for our Christmas 2015 shoot for my first vintage collection. It was shot in our local pub surrounded by beer drinking locals! lol
Right now in 2017 I feel like AEQUILL has really found its feet. Of course it will continue to develop and evolve and adjust.
We’ve just done a shoot for Mums Aromatherapy Shop which is almost ready to go. I’ll share this with you on in March’s post so pop back here then!
I am always interested in personal projects like this one so if you have a project that you’re working on please share with me!
